Creating Opportunities… … Empowering Abilities

Building a world where no disabled person has to choose between their health, their dreams, or their livelihood.

Live Disabled’s Story

Our Founder’s Story

Rachael E Stout

Rachael first became disabled at 16.

The next decade was a mess of depression, confusion, and isolation. After getting on disability at 26, Rachael became determined to live a better life. It took her another decade of school, optimizing her healthcare, and pure determination to realize that depression, confusion, and isolation were a side story to her disability.

While her disability was here to stay, she could be disabled and have abundant joy.

Now, Rachael founded Live Disabled to help others find that joy; she consults with organizations to create REAL Disability Inclusion, and she lives every day to the fullest with her furry family and her grandparents, whom she cares for. 🙂

The Beginning

Inspired by her struggles and isolation with endometriosis and epilepsy, Rachael founded Live Disabled in 2020.

What started as individual financial, life, and job coaching soon evolved as Rachael realized many of the problems people faced were the same ones she had experienced.

Establishing the Foundation

With a clear vision in place, Rachael began to connect with individuals, families, and community organizations to understand their needs and challenges.

This collaborative approach shaped the development of programs and services designed to create a meaningful impact, ensuring that Live Disabled would truly serve its mission of empowerment and accessibility.

Today

Now, Live Disabled has transitioned to a fully online model. We have partnered with organizations to create an evolving platform that best serves disabled adults and their caregivers.

It is our hope to come closer to our vision of equality through the work we do today. We would love your help! đꙂ

Our Mission, Together

Live Disabled is a movement empowering disabled adults and their advocates to live fully—by achieving mental and physical wellbeing, connecting to purposeful work, and growing real wealth.

Through trusted education, resources, research, and community, we walk this journey together. We uncomplicate finding disability supports so you can stop fumbling through the dark alone, quickly make progress, and get back to what matters most — the life of your dreams.

Our Values

Our standards are high, because we understand that the stakes are high for those we serve.

No problem is too big or too small—we are here to advocate for and uplift the voices of disabled individuals, because lasting change begins with empowerment.

At Live Disabled, everyone matters and everyone is welcome.

We collaborate with research professionals to ensure our practices are rooted in the latest insights and truly benefit our community.

Together, we can create a brighter, more inclusive future.

We believe every person deserves equal access to financial, employment, and healthcare opportunities, regardless of ability.

Our programs and resources are designed to remove barriers and promote meaningful participation for all.

We provide a supportive, judgment-free environment where people with disabilities and caregivers can connect, learn, and grow without fear of stigma or bullying. Privacy and respect are non-negotiable in our community.

Knowledge is power. By simplifying complex topics like finances, employment, and healthcare, we equip individuals with tools to take control of their future.

We focus on practical, research-backed education that creates real change.

Disability can feel isolating. We prioritize creating spaces for belonging, where shared experiences turn into shared strength.

Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do.

We are open and honest about how we operate, how funds are used, and how we partner with others. Whether through donor stewardship or affiliate links, we are clear about how our work is sustained.

We treat every person with dignity, recognizing the worth, talents, and contributions of individuals with disabilities.

We actively work to change perceptions of disability in the workforce and society.

We believe disability does not define limits—it defines opportunities to innovate, adapt, and succeed.

Our work is grounded in the belief that everyone can create a life of prosperity and purpose.

Find out how you can create change, too!

We would love to have you join us in empowering all abilities.
